two eye glasses mounted garmin Heads Up Display just came to my attention. I'm interested because it's a bugger to mount stuff where I can do anything with it and sometimes just have reliable view. The Varia vision is targeting the bicycle rider and their set up. For example there is an option to get radar notice of vehicle approach from the rear. I might need this for future races with Duncan or other faster paddlers.

well poop. the nautix device only pairs with the larger ship-board garmin base units.

Reivers, fear not. When I was 12 years old I invented a mirror that is hidden within the inside of the face of the sunglass lens; allowing an athlete to view competitors from behind without them knowing (for cyclists, big deal at the time). I have a few extra prototypes in my arsenal, happy to share*. As for anyone else unlucky enough to find themselves behind me in a race, yup - I am watching you.

They are both is rated unsuitable for swimming, which rules out most the surfski paddlers I know.

thx Nick. Didn't think to check that. Regards music, seems like many of you paddlers march to the beat of a different tuba anyways. No headphones for me. I'm trying to tune in to whatever radio waves you guys got goin on.
