- Spanish Banks Beach to Burrard Civic Marina approx. 6 km - if you can paddle upwind from Spanish Banks you can add to your downwind distance
- Lighthouse Park to Ambleside - 8 km
- Eagle Harbour to Ambleside - 12 km video
- Gibsons to False Creek (approx. 30.5 km) a bit of a shuttle for this one
- Howe Sound
- Porteau Cove to Squamish Downtown (S wind) approx. 19 km (Canadian Downwind Champs Course, Downwindable.com, without the 2 km start to the middle of Howe Sound)
- Furry Creek, Howe Sound to Whytecliff Park, West Vancouver (N wind) approx. 24 km video
Tidal Races
- Ambleside Park Laps A great place to surf laps in the city. After surfing up the current, turn around and go even faster back into the waves and surf down again!

- Ambleside Hollyburn Sailing Club this webcam is just west of Ambleside Park
- West Vancouver Kiteboarding Webcam this webcam is a little farther west than the Hollyburn webcam so the view is west of where Ambleside laps are usually run, although the laps can sometimes extend west into this area (and involve large waves)

- Coast Outdoors These folks (along with their waterside rental and training facility at Deep Cove) are long time supporters of the PNW paddling community. They can be a very good source of information about paddle sports and paddling in the Vancouver area. And they run the annual Tuesday Night Races at Deep Cove and the Canadian Downwind Championships in Howe Sound.
