Steal your grandmother's favorite recipe, warm up your oven, and bring a dozen or so cookies to the Paddle for Food Relay. Besides fueling the racers, your entry will also be judged. Top baker walks away with a prize and an inflated ego. See you Sunday.

You know Peter I grautated Magna Cum Cookie from The University of Dough in the area of butter, ,region of Bordeaux, France. So while not baking for the contest I will put up $50.00 in prize money for the top 3 placing units. I do really like thin, lots of walnuts, chocolate chip, ( just a hint) so I can help judge this event, then the excess could be auctioned off to raise more funds. Teams other than mine could eat all their cookies before racing and be really fast. Dave

Glorious Sunshine, the Weather Gods decided to take a break, no Forest Fires or Torrential Rains or Hurricane Force Winds, just a Great Day!!

80 Paddlers, 65 Boats, Too many delicious cookies to count (although a few came back to haunt me as I raced around the course…….) and Soups by Chef Veronica and Chef Dale!!

One annual swim by a racer during transition, which I will be polite, and not name “Elaina Ecker.” Although to be fair, Mike Medler did a miraculous recovery as his double partner leaped out of the boat to ring the Bell and how Mark Whitlock didn't fall trying to ring the bell while still paddle leashed to his boat and I think it was Zach from the BSKCT that spent some time running through the crowd getting “bad directions” on where exactly was the Bell he was suppose to ring????

Volunteers were the Backbone of this event!! Adirenne, Christine, Julie, Glenn, Kevin, Amber, Paul, Larry, Reivers, Mike, Brian, Thom, Edoh, Veronica,, Kathy, Brandon, Steve, Alex…..who did I miss, who did I miss???

….And I haven't done an exact count but it looks like our Paddling Community has raise about 300 pounds of Non Perishable food and almost 6000 Dollars which translate to almost 50,000, YES, almost 50,000 dollars of Food Buying power for the Food Bank that you all generated!! How Cool is that !!!!!

I for one, am honored to have you as my paddling community family and THANK YOU.
