Brandon and Heather crossed the finish line in 4th place overall and first in the mixed tandem category. They finished at 7:51 PM Friday evening and were 2.5 hours behind the first place boat. The fifth place kayak finished at the same time as the Nelsons so I must assume that he was drafting them. The prize money for their finish should be about $1200 Canadian. Not quite enough for Heather's new V-10.

Yeah man, right on. It wrung me out following their progress, imagining the heights of suffering and achievement and self-knowledge they attained and how short life is to obtain these awarenesses. HEATHER AND BRANDON, AWESOME, YOU BRING TEARS TO MY EYES. You rule!

Congratulations to Heather and Brandon for demolishing the mixed tandem record! They shaved over 5 hours from the previous best time. Stay tuned, LeAnne and I will be trying to talk them into a potluck at our house to share their adventure..
