Great fun last night. Big turnout. Jeff D. beat me, and Heather and LB, and many others. I beat a couple of my arch - rivals. The pecking order is a total mess. Lots of new paddlers and somebody is coaching these folks. Some are getting off the line like they were shot from a cannon. Thank goodness for old age treachery. I seem to get back in the game about half-way around. Especially when it gets a little chunky.
Great to see Austin, but he didn't paddle. I told him later I was sad not to get a chance at him. Thank goodness he laughed with me and not at me. Pretty sure David and LB listening were laughing at me. It's ok. Honor the sport and everyone who love it.
Cockpit tuneup: I'm fooling with seat padding and hit a great set up. I'm finding no more ass-rash or waist burn marks. Basically, since I don't have a cannon-ball butt, there's not much muscle mass down there. So I'm padding where the cheeks meet boat to keep the bones off. You're welcome to stare at my seat: the seat of my boat, guys.
