So, if the wind is 15 mph or more we move the winner take all, end of summer, big time down wind,(well some kinda wind) over 60, all commers hoe down from the lake to the bay. OK by me,but you guys have to use those old tried and true R's. DJ now you stay outa this, cuze while the first bet was each others first born, we now a little late for that, so were down to just beer and lots of it. If we do the lake, JUNGLE RULES, except no T-boneing,drafting out of class (MMmm no one in this group has any class so I guess it's ok). Sounds like we have an epic battle shaping up. If its on the Lake, then we need to have a separate start if we can't draft out of class. Debbie and Heather aren't going to paddle against us are they? My ego is fragile enough. Did you notice that Reivers is uncharacteristicaly quiet? Whats he up to? He's to old to be getting some sense all of a sudden. Hell, even Larry G has piped up!

Your right about Rivers Larry. It's rumored that he's getting Morris, Kirk and Jeff to block and create a big hole to draft in. Ya know, that's a new concept for Lk Padden.3 man teams, like the Tour de France team time trial, the fast guys (women) have to get the 3rd person across, and the 3rd persons time is the time. Boy I can see the mayhem on that one.34 hrs to go.

Will there be live video stream of this event? Does surfski.info know about it? Because we are approaching 20 hrs of darkness per day and the lakes are starting to freeze over, and cuz we don't have anything else to do, most of Canada will be watching and waiting for the outcome. Send Pictures and video please.

I'm not saying anything. Because if I do my voice will squeek and you'll all realize I've been blowing helium into my surfski.

And wait a minute - LG can't be part of the tarnished goldens because only about 2/3rds of him is doing the race. He's lost weight and looks 10 years younger.

…feeling a little woozy here - how long does it take to get oxygen after breathing helium? What day is it? Where do you put the swim fins on this ride?

. . . just make sure the race is short enough so that at least one of them has a good chance of finishing the distance. Maybe DJ can organize the medical backup just in case.

This is a bit of a digression, but with all this talk of all these greyt paddlers, (greyt is a cross between grey and great), I was going to post something about a flotilla. When looking up how to spell it, I came across the word “flounce - the act of walking with exaggerated jerky motions”. I realized that if I just added a “d”, I could come up with a brand new word. “floduncan - the art of paddling with exaggerated jerky motions.” Seems like a no-brainer! I'll even volunteer to make the stick-on for his boat.

I think we need to get you out there before the race and use that MD to update all these Golden Master DNR orders. We can decide if DNR is just 'Do Not Resuscitate' or can we add 'Do Not Rescue' to the order set. Maybe a little Epi to jump start the old tickers at the starting line, easy on the Sildenafil Citrate (viagra) tonight gentlemen, we want you minds focused on the task at hand….

It's a dirty job, but some of us have to sit around making use of those sewer lines you're putting in. And then there's all the paperwork afterwards. That's why my sport is paddling - keeps my nails fresh and clean.

However, this explains it: you are up there doubling your corpuscle count at altitude, then climb down to harrass the flat-landers. It won't work this time. I skipped my beer & ice-cream breakfast. Meanwhile I'm looking for part-time work as a choker-setter in the off-season (but I can't tolerate any of those irritating whistles).

LB, you tell him off real good. Make up another word or something.

I say we should issue demerits for being a ruffian. I bet those well dressed ivy league rowers just wanted to hug you, hehe!

We really should include Pete Wells and Dave Shearer. They are both certainly very tarnished (not so sure about the “golden” and the “masters” part).

Is LB still in? Someone should remind him. He'll probably forget there was a race and we'll find him down at El Rinconcito halfway through his second margarita…
