I got up this morning and checked out iWindsurf.com for wind report here in Camano Island. It was blowing 20mph gusting 25.S, SSE ..with strong outgoing tide = perfect waves. I launched at Maple Grove instead usual Utsalady Bay launch.
Put on Farmer John wetsuit, leashed up and head out 6km upwind. Turned around and start surfing. Waves were awesome 3-4ft some pushing 5ft. Waves were running parallel with the shore so I did not have to venture too far out into the bay. My Mako Elite was rock solid in the waves..gliding effortlessly. There were no boats around (fishing/crabbing) season off ???. Some waves where big enough you could feel it in the stomach and starring down,,,just awesome runner after runner.
I wish I could paddle more often in conditions like this and not only in the weekends and when wind and currents line up just right. But I will take whatever I can.
Did you Bellingham bunch head out today??
take care and have a fun
be safe
