It was a beautiful day on Lk Washington for racing around Mercer Island. Only a handful of Whatcompaddlers were present, but overall, there was good turnout.

Alan Lipp was top ski in the short course, followed closely by Jacob Roberts in OC. Not far behind was Joe Johnson.

I teamed up with Don Kiesling and Egor Klevak in the triple to win the Long Course. Jonas E and Paul C paddled together for the first time to claim 2nd overall. Greg Barton was the first single and 4th overall.

Many sausages were consumed after the race.

Still plenty of races this month. The season is far from over!

Kevin doesn’t say it, but his boat was a juggernaut. Jonas was kind enough to let this old man finish out the Ecker Trifecta (or as he called it the Trif-Ecker-Ta) and I told him after the race that I should have called Guinness because I’m sure no one else will complete that feat. It’s now top of my resume.
I don’t think I did him any favors out there but second is better than last! It was great to see so many boats on the water for the return of this epic race. If you’ve never done it, put it on your calendar.
