Super Tuesday at Deep Cove

Awesome night last night in Deep Cove. Huge turnout as always (93!), and of course most of the A-list paddling stars were in attendance, with the notable exception of Carter. I guess it's not fun enough to twirl on flat water.
We did a staged start with the average Joe's (main group) lining up first, then the Bro's (SUP's / Prone) who did a slightly different distance, and finally a group of twenty or so Pro's four minutes back in chase mode. I love this style of racing, because it's fun to blend the fields.
Below is a video of the start and first few minutes of the race, I wound up 7th, and worked with up coming talent Ryan Paroz to try to stay close to the leaders. Was great to see Abby and Steve in the mix as well, just outside of the top ten in their double. Sean Rice picked up a win in a classic sprint finish over Jasper Mocke and Kenny Rice. Dawid was just a moment behind in fourth.

Fun vid for flats. I could see some moves going on. Bunxs of O2 getting respirated.
Length compares slightly less than our Wed Niter. Working backward from the finisher's times, also calibrating for where Steve and Abby placed, I would say I'm glad I stayed home and painted. Did Shane M go swimming? Not normal for Warren to burn in 40 seconds ahead of Shane. Warren must have switched to a higher proof Tequila.
Those Tues Niters are really pretty fun. Especially the lies they tell over beers afterwards.

The distance was exactly 3.75 miles by my GPS (Lake Whatcom course is 3.45ish if I remember correctly?), I averaged 8.4 and lost 2 minutes on the leaders in that short distance!!!. I think Shane was in the mix at the start, and then decided to ease up and spin it in. The big move came when Jasper and Sean lit up the front at about 3k into the race.

Hi Folks,
Here's the quick edit from this past weeks Tuesday Night Race (TNR) in Deep Cove. Team Think was in full force with Teneale Hatton, Sean Rice, Kenny Rice, and Macca Hynard, oh and Daryl too. Team Epic had Jasper Mocke, Sam Mayhew, Rachel Clarke, Ryan Paroz. Also the Legend Dawid Mocke, Representing Bellingham Scoggs and Cryder, kinda sounds like an eighties cop show, like starski and hutch.
