What a GREAT community you are!! Seventy paddlers from Bellingham Bay Outrigger Club, Kids development program led by Dan Bahavra, Water Polo Kayak Club and Whatcom Paddlers. My X-terra is plugged with Non-perishable food and are you sitting down and holding on to something…..SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS, yep, 6000.00 buck-a-roo's was donated to the Bellingham Food Bank! What a GREAT community you are!!! Thanks to all the volunteers (don't be upset if I forgot), Edoh, Dan W., Pete, Jim, Thom, Paul C., Veronica, Mike H.,Eric G., “the race team committee”, Bob Mc., Also, Thank you to all that brought food and the Soup makers…(Larry G. and Kathy, Veronica, me..)

Such a crazy idea. It could never work, right? wrong. One of the most fun events going. It's wierd, I drag myself down there feeling the cold weather and end up having a blast. The team make up is one of the magic ingredients and I know how tough that is on the committee. But it's wonderful to have teams wrap up fairly close with accomodation for all kinds. My team got me in just ahead of three other fast surfskis and we pounded on each other with reckless abandon. Rybzchk(sp), Whitlock and that scrappy guy from Wenatchee caught up and we had a four-way drag race for miles. I was amazed to find myself able to hang on and give a good go at the finish. I hope seeing me flopping around on the beach didn't scare the little kids too much.

Just such an outrageous show seeing fast rowers, OC-4, open canoes, spritely kids in K-boats all ripping it up out there. regatta de riot.

Incredible! Well done Peter et al. That is the best event out there and anyone from out of town who thinks it is not worth the trip is crazy.
