First Liar: I was awesome. Second Liar: you were pretty good, but you drafted the whole way. Third Liar: I got water in my boat, seaweeds on my rudder, the wind was in my eyes, and I had a terrible start. And the turn buoy had drifted a mile before I got there so I had to paddle twice as far.
whew, that felt good. I'm all three liars. hehe.
Kevin, Amber and team are getting good at this. Just so righteous to see all the old and new faces. I can't help but wonder how bad the southern route was. That Southerly was pretty dang tough to work against. But something happened that I've heard about before. Today's long course the optimum line was to come back south right in the teeth of the wind and waves. Because the current was favorable and as was explained to me after, water is many times more dense than air. didn't make it feel good. So that's my problem. I'm all about the feel good. eh. Maybe I'll learn from this. Maybe not. Soup kitchen rocked. I went for Niel's broccoli n bacon, added a little packet of oyster crackers, half slice of sourdough. Feel good baby. We were light on the cookies (Thx Dan M) - but probably I'll live longer if I ease up on the sugar hit anyway. Big mess on I-5 North. One lane traffic with a couple mile backup. They were picking up the cones as I went by so maybe this was all a special present for yours truly. Hope you guys all had fun. But not as much fun as me. I had the most fun.

Thanks for the kind words Reivers. It was awesome to see everyone back on the water in full on race mode! There were some intense battles taking place all over the course yesterday.
Due to some confusion about turn marks, several racers completed the new-for-2023-not-likely-to-return 5 mile Medium Course.

Next up on the calendar BBOP is hosting the PNWORCA small boat race on Feb 25 at Marine Park. Race season has started!

Wow, some of those split times. There's several within a second. Finish line must have been a hoot to watch. Short course, Long, and intermediate - some aorta stretch marks all across the board.
