Fun race. Quite surprising for all the clams in that shallow water to the West of Jetty. Many of us wandered in there too close (about 1/2 mile from the shoreline) and startled the seagulls standing in the sandy water. One of us in the female HPK division added a wading leg to their race.
Not a big turnout, but really fun. Reminded me of early soundrower races. The cool morning with hint of sun turned cooler and darker. There was very good soup. The soup competition is getting hotter (ahem). Chicken dumplings was my fav. Miso, chowder, and some others were available. Lots of M&M's, brownies, fruitcake and other things that my dietitian did not have on my plan were also there.
I raced hard and had to nap all the way home. As some of us know, that transition from nap to productive life is very important. One must avoid stress or exersion and make no major decisions. So. I took another nap when I got home.
Race directors mentioned this might be the last running due to shallowing bay.
