Only two races left in the series and the heat is on (cue Eddie Murphy soundtrack).

Thursday’s race will be a figure-8 from Marine Park to Cornwall Beach and back, crossing under the Taylor St dock. The bonus points were determined by random draw earlier this evening:
Doubles: +1
SUP: +2
Surfski: +3
OC-1: +4
Age divisions will still be drawn within boat classes based on the number of entries.
Weather-wise, there should be a strong front coming through on Wednesday but we are looking at sunny skies and light winds by Thursday.

It was a beautiful night to be on the water. 20 boats raced along the waterfront from Fairhaven to Bellingham. Peter Marcus outlasted the surging Dean Bumstead to take the win. Marc Whitlock was close behind in 3rd place. Alan Lipp lead the charge in the OC-1 group that included Duncan's modified surfski contraption. Larry B paddled like a man half his age and Mike and Jacqui were tearing it up in the OC-2.

Next week will be the finale if the series. The course will likely be a lap around Chuckanut (Dot) Island unless its blowing, in which case we will arrange a downwinder. The bonus opportunity will be a double remount (head under water, both sides of the boat) within 50 meters of the finish, worth 5 points.
