Heather & Austin both 9th in their division. Heather 62nd out of field of 162. Clearly heavyweight men were all their. Looks like same for women's division. That's a good day for both of them right there.

I might have been able to finish, but not a sure thing. Maybe one of those 3-1/2hour finishers. The thing for me is I do great when the waves are groomed. The bigger the better there, but when there is multiple layers of chopp, not so good for me. I see there were several DNF's. hats off for trying. Don't mind saying I'm intimidated by this race. I don't put stuff on my bucket list that might make me kick the bucket. Can't wait to hear the stories.

AMAZING job by our local B'ham paddlers Heather and Austin! Heather reported that she took one swim. If you know Heather's skills nowadays, for her to swim mid-race tells a story of some bumpy conditions. :)
