OK Jonas and Aaron finished 5th in the semi final A group, K2 500….Hard to understand, but I heard the commentator state that the final 6 teams in the final race will be going to the Olympics.
But first they have to finish another race in the “B” group as well. So perhaps someone could explain this to me…..
Also, will they be competing in the K2 1000 as well?

Hey Guys, thanks for all the support and interest!

We raced our K2 500 SF yesterday which is the only Olympic distance for men’s double kayak. We put together a good race but it wasn’t quite enough to put us in the A Final. We did however qualify for the B Final so that will be another great opportunity to race.

After today we head to Paris for the Olympic test event where Aaron and I will race K2 500 again and both race K1 1000.

Although it is disappointing to not make it through to the A Final to fight for quota spots we will have another opportunity in the spring and we can do lots to improve between now and then.

Congratulations Jonas and Aaron! You have fans here on sleepy Orcas I., too. We have been glued to the Planet Canoe YouTube channel all weekend.

One of the highlights was your 1000 SF against Varga. Jonas quit? NOT!

The K2 500 A final was amazing. Eight boats under 1:30. The time spread from 1st to 9th was less than 1.5 seconds.
