First, I want to thank everybody that showed up today for the 'round Lummi Paddle'. In attendence was me. We (me) started off going south riding the current but fighting a slight headwind. The weeds were pretty bad so we (me) had to make several stops to de-weed. Then once we (me) made the turn at Carter Point, the wind shifted to the NW and we (me) bucked wind, weeds, and current all the way to Point Migley. Nice. This was a lot like paddling with Dean only Dean wasn't there. On the way north, I had lots of time to think so I wrote this poem:

Eelgrass, eelgrass

You burn my ass

You make me shudder

when you stick to my rudder

You cover my legs and arms

and make me look like I am wearing charms

You arrive in the Spring and leave in the fall

and make me not hate winter at all.

Pretty good, huh? Next time show up to paddle with me or I'll write more poetry.
