To reduce or avoid wrist injuries check your technique. Make sure your wrists are perpendicular to the shaft on the drive. Be careful about flexing your hand backward excessively (particularly the top of your control hand back toward your forearm if you use feather). Look at your feathering technique. If it's your feathering wrist that hurts try different feathering angles or going to no angle at all. Consider adding wrist mobility exercises to your routine.
