North Winds Forecast

messy week
Reivers Dustin Feb 21 #31069

Looking yucky for a few days. Big NEaster today and tomorrow. Then weak airs and hard cold. Might be a good time to work on mental paddle-powers. Visualize excellent technique. Practice your underwater basket weaving, whatever.

hehe, I was hoping someone would throw down. Anyone else get out?

Denise Weeks Feb 22 #31076

Yep. Brianna and the Denises made it out. We all agreed that the cold north wind was much better on our backs than in our faces. The sun helped. Some amongst us broke a sweat, apparently.

those waves look maybe better than the good southers we get. Nice rides.

Day 2 of north wind - good again. Brian F. and I did another reverse Wildcat from Waypoint Park. The whole run was good, but the north part of the bay was particularly excellent. We ran into some rebound headed straight at us as we got close to the old drydock area, but everything cleaned up again as soon as we got past that.

Reivers, I believe that for some reason, given similar strength, the north winds create better waves in the bay than south winds. Just my opinion, but I'd bet others will concur.

Oh ow ow ow, my back hurts watching that that young guy on your left leaning left. D

Since its 25 degrees out, I guess I don’t care if they are better. In staying home in front of the fireplace reading a Wilbur Smith book.
