| So I found Duncan’s twin, my uncle in law who is not only a percebe (barnacle) but also 80 and rockin an Epic 9. He took first place in the annual Guaymas paddle race (check out link below) in flat water. But like I told Dunc, David and Reivers from Nov through April it’s downwind central and maybe better than Ventana, Kite Beach by the Sunset Grill is the haven for a reason! | So I found Duncan’s twin, my uncle in law who is not only a percebe (barnacle) but also 80 and rockin an Epic 9. | - | I propose an exchange program whereby a bunch of barnacles visit San Carlos Sonora for a week of DW, then we invite the Percebes de Mexico to the NW for some summer Gorge and BBay. The last few days have been blowing 30-45 kts, water temps 70 F, air 70-80s, DW options of 10 mi for ~15 min of driving, with options for +/- 5-10 extra mi for a few more minutes driving. Today from Isla San Pedro could have done 20 mi in probably 1.5 hrs! And plenty of fishing charters would shuttle us up in morning calm waters (1hr) for clockwork 20-30 kts by 1pm! Maybe catch some fish for dinner too! | + | I propose an exchange program whereby a bunch of barnacles visit San Carlos Sonora for a week of DW, then we invite the Percebes (Spanish for [[:more_barnacles|Barnacle]]) de Mexico to the NW for some summer Gorge and BBay.
