| - | Fun Paddle yesterday but I was late..slogged my way half way across the Bay trying to "THINK" I could catch up and ended up surfing back with a couple of the boys coming back early………did a couple of passes and was minding my own business and decided to go for a little dip…without a drysuit…..my lifejacket, for the first time ever, got stuck on the lip of my boat. I tried to keep from getting to wet but it acelerated me up to my face in the drink as the jacket created suddenly more leverage on my cockpit when I pulled up to get into the boat …I went the other way….NICE….if that wasn't fun enough I kicked hard to slide the boat towards my wandering water bottle (which Mike H. recovered and assisted and Larry G hung around as he watched me go in a second time over the other side of the boat) and both my boots instantly came off and started to float away……so, to make a long story short, and to suck up my pride and being a pretty decent water person….it took me about a half of a day to get my feeling back in my legs and MOST importantly my balance was out of wack until I got a little warmer. I was wearing my Hydro skins and couple of layers of "polly" with a shell and wool socks with the escaping boots……my upper body was fine but the little second dip sent a little emegency signal into my body to perserve the core and i couldn't control the the blood flow which created some imbalance while still on the water and made me think I had been drinking when I wandered to the car……….ANYWAY……..it doesn't take long so paddle wisely the next time your thinking about going out into a waterway which is further than you want or can swim to shore if there are less than two of you?? Thanks, Mike and Larry | + | Fun Paddle yesterday but I was late..slogged my way half way across the Bay trying to "THINK" I could catch up and ended up surfing back with a couple of the boys coming back early………did a couple of passes and was minding my own business and decided to go for a little dip…without a drysuit…..my lifejacket, for the first time ever, got stuck on the lip of my boat.
