| Race #2 shifts the series into high gear with a downwind course. Wind is just beginning to build and looks to be in the moderate range (10-12 knots) by race time. To keep things fun and simple we will begin at Marine Park and paddle to the start line at the RR tunnel. The course will finish at the small boat dock at Zuanich Park, just inside Squalicum Harbor. Shuttles will be provided back to Fairhaven. | Race #2 shifts the series into high gear with a downwind course. | + | The wind machine was on for this week's race. Conditions were not as big as expected but a steady breeze set up a nice downwind course. Jamie Klein piloted the safety boat last week and showed up on the starting line this week. He managed to hold off the hard-charging Wilson for a close victory. Ana and Alan would have both probably liked a bit more wind but still had solid races and took 3rd and 4th respectively. | ||

| + | Larry B made his series debut and beat a strong field of Legendary Golden Barnacles. Duncan showed he's still a powerhouse with a strong sprint finish. Denise and Erica scored the most bonus points paddling the 22"wide Think Ace. Peter and Bob were in V-8s and there were a bunch of V-8 Pros and V-10 Sports. No one brought a plastic boat... | ||

| + | Huge thanks to John R. for providing safety on the water and to Duncan for the use of his trailer at the finish. I also want to thank Neil for running the registration and Kristian and Amber for timing. This stuff doesn't happen without these awesome volunteers. | ||

| + | Coming up next week is an exciting relay race. It will be random draw but I have a formula to keep teams fairly even. The course will be 9 laps of about 1000 meters with some fun twists and turns. | ||
