===== Hot 5 Race Schedule =====

Every Thursday evening in August I’ll be hosting a series of fun and competitive races. Mostly aimed at surfski, OC and SUP but any human powered craft are welcome. We will be taking registrations at 5:00 pm. Race meeting will be at 5:45 and we will try to begin by 6:00. Categories will be determined by number of entries and based on boat class and age divisions.

Week 1: Intro\\
Location: Marine Park\\
3.5 mile course (hopefully with downwind  section). Bonus points available for  “capturing the whale”

Week 2: Sprints\\
Location: Lake Padden Swim Beach\\
1000 Meter and 500 Meter sprints by boat class and age division

Week 3: Swim\\
Location: Marine Park\\
3.5 mile course with 2 mandatory remounts at designated locations. Bonus points available for open water swim finish (less than 100’)

Week 4: Team Boats\\
Location: Cornwall Beach (Glass Beach)\\
4.5 mile course. Doubles, triples, 4s and 6s earn extra points.

Week 5: Finale\\
Location: Marine Park\\
6 Mile course from MP around Chuckanut Island and back.

Each race will contribute to a total point score for the series. There will be cool prizes for winners weekly and at the end of the series. I understand how busy everyone is this time of year so the series totals will be the best 4 of 5 races.
