-So after all the dialog last week, I decided to buy the Universal Lockrack from REI.  ...mostly I wanted to see it but wanted to be able to return it.  So, after 2 hours for this mechanical engineer to figure out how to put it on the car (really not that complicated, but just that many pieces) I found that the arm is 3" away from the Epic V-10L surfski!  It would be 1" away from the phat V-9!   Lockrack's Surfski version would still be an inch away from the V-10L.  Also its only adjustable in 1" increments.  i.e. It only works for one boat and has to be re-adjusted to fit another one.  Plus they don't have a phone number. They don't answer email.  Neat idea, but the execution is one of the worst I've seen.  picture is attached.
