====== Paint Matching Bellingham ====== **Auto Paint Shop for Ski?** \\ **Dan Mayhew** \\ 04/17/24 #35425 About a month ago, someone at one of our paddles recommended an auto shop to get paint to match a surfski. Can you remind me of the shop? Kai Wa'a sent me the formula to match my yellow Flex and I want to have the paint mixed up. Thanks **Kimberly Reeves** \\ 04/17/24 #35426 Wesco Auto Body on Kentucky does the paint match. Cost about $135 per pint. They do the paint matches for Sterling.\\ Kim **Reivers Dustin** \\ 04/17/24 #35427 well. now we know. "The Hive Mind" is actually just Kim. So let's preserve this resource and don't tell anyone. **Larry Bussinger** \\ 04/17/24 #35428 You’re adding paint (i.e. weight)? Duncan sands his paint off. Larry Bussinger **Paul Reavley** \\ 04/17/24 #35429 Just between you and me…what is the kind of paint to use/request? **David Scherrer** \\ 04/17/24 #35430 Or you might try Stocktons. They carry a wide variety and may mix a smaller amount. **Denise Weeks** \\ 04/17/24 #35431 But if he wants it to paint his car to match his boat to match his shirt, hat, and life jacket, he’s going to need a larger quantity. 1 person liked this **James Schulz** \\ 04/17/24 #35432 Don’t forget to paint your paddle blades! **Dennis Mowry** \\ 04/17/24 #35433 There's an auto body paint store at the top of Iowa St across from the car lots. The paint can has a button on the bottom which infuses the hardner. It will harder in the can in about 24 hrs or so which could allow a couple coats if needed.\\ I think they can add color, I just needed clear.\\ :D' **David Scherrer** \\ 04/17/24 #35434 Dan, I really think you should leave the look of your ski alone…Kinda Rouge(ish) that way. Like Dennis's Vega.\\ But hey, perhaps painting your car, clothing, paddle, etc to match. There's an idea! **Dan Mayhew** \\ 04/17/24 #35435 Thanks Kim and Dennis for helpful answers, and a special thanks to all the other goobers for their color commentary. **Reivers Dustin** \\ 04/17/24 #35436 goober-mind rules. **Tim Niemier** \\ 04/17/24 #35438 I used to paint cars and the paint that Wesco will probably sell you is a 2 part very stinky paint that is not good to breath or even get on your skin. Getting a car painting place to paint it may cost $1000. Another person that has the equipment to do that is Sterling kayaks. I would try them Tim Niemier **Dan Mayhew** \\ 04/17/24 #35439 Thanks Tim! **David Hooper** \\ 04/17/24 #35440 If you keep it rolling, it could be a contenter for next year's "longest thread award". Though maybe we need a new category for highest ratio of useless:useful replies…
