It only adheres to itself so no residue and easy to remove, has a little bit of cushion and is a little tacky. Regular electricians tape on the other hand - slicker. **Dennis Mowry** Aug 8 #27366 Surfboard wax melts fairly quickly and needs to be re-applied so it gets messy. I tried it because I saw Jasper using it and later asked about it. He did was mainly for the starts, then melts. If your going to try it, use the one for cold temperatures. I also used the stuff Peter mentioned the longest but have been experimenting with other options lately. I don't like too much build up or cushion. :D' **Dan Mayhew** \\ Aug 8 #27368 Thank you everyone for the tips. I will be trying some of them. **Jonas Ecker** \\ Aug 8 #27369 I personally just use 3m electrical tape, with a little ridge higher to keep my hand in place
