**Gorge Downwind Run Celebrating 80 yr Old Paddlers**

**Drano @ 80 Challenge**</WRAP>

If you do a **downwind run from Drano to the Hatch**  (Drano Lake to Spring Creek Hatchery State Park - if you know [[:hood_river_columbia_gorge#downwinders|Columbia River Gorge downwinders]] you will know where this is) on or after your **80th birthday**  you can get a nameplate added to the Drano @ 80 Trophy. The traditional takeout for Drano runs is at the **White Salmon**  river, but that takeout is really only **suited for mountain goats**  - thus the slightly shorter, more age appropriate takeout at the Hatch.

Challenge **created in 2024**  by Bellhamsters, **Dan Mayhew (class of 2037) and Duncan Howat (class of 2024)**. (The **Barnacle Pledge**  below is not required - it is just there to generate some enthusiasm toward achieving this goal.).
